Overview

The Subclass 117 Orphan Relative Visa is a permanent offshore visa for children who are orphaned or whose parents are unable to provide care, and who will be cared for by an eligible Australian relative (not a parent).

The visa covers genuine humanitarian situations where a child has no parents able to care for them and an Australian relative, such as a grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, or first cousin, is willing and able to provide long-term care in Australia.
