Subclass 103Parent Visa
The most affordable permanent parent visa, but with the longest processing queue. Suitable for parents who plan ahead and are willing to wait.
Overview
The Subclass 103 Parent Visa is a permanent offshore visa for parents of Australian citizens, permanent residents, or eligible New Zealand citizens. It is significantly cheaper than the contributory parent visas but has an extremely long processing queue, currently estimated at more than 30 years.
Like all parent visas, it requires the 'balance of family' test: at least half of the applicant's children must be Australian citizens or PRs living in Australia, or more of their children must live in Australia than in any other single country.
F4MG typically recommends the 103 only as a supplementary strategy alongside a temporary parent visa (like the 870 Sponsored Parent Visa) due to the very long queue. Applicants who lodge a 103 may be eligible for a Bridging Visa.
