Subclass 864Contributory Aged Parent Visa
Permanent visa for aged parents of Australian citizens or PRs who are already in Australia and of pension age.
Overview
The Subclass 864 Contributory Aged Parent Visa is an onshore permanent visa for parents who are in Australia, are of pension age, and have a child settled in Australia. Like the 143, it requires payment of a contribution charge but offers faster processing than non-contributory options.
Applicants must be of pension age (currently 67 for both men and women) at the time of application. The 864 is preceded by the temporary onshore Subclass 884 visa. Holders receive full permanent residence rights including Medicare.
F4MG coordinates the aged parent visa application for both the temporary 884 and permanent 864 stages.
