The Graduate Work stream visa is issued for 18 months. The Post-Study Work stream duration depends on the level and location of study: bachelor/masters graduates receive 2–4 years, PhD graduates receive 4 years, and regional graduates may receive additional time.
Yes. The 485 visa grants unlimited work rights in any occupation and any location. It also includes study rights. Family members included on the visa may also have work rights.
The 485 visa can generally only be held once (with some exceptions). However, regional graduates may access an additional 2-year 485 visa if they studied and lived in a regional area. F4MG monitors any policy changes and advises accordingly.
The 485 visa allows you to gain Australian work experience, which earns additional points on the skilled migration points test (5 or 10 points for 1+ years of Australian work experience vs. overseas experience). This significantly improves your chances of receiving an invitation for a 189, 190, or 491 visa.
