ETA (Subclass 601)
The Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (Subclass 601) is a visa pathway for individuals from eligible countries who are visiting Australia for tourism purposes or business-related activities. It allows multiple entries within 12 months, with a maximum stay of 3 months. The same ETA application cannot include family members.
eVisitor (Subclass 651)
Individuals from eligible countries can avail of the eVisitor Visa (Subclass 651) and travel to Australia for tourism, visiting family, or business-visitor activities. The visa allows a stay of up to 3 months for 12 months. It is a multiple-entry visa and must be applied for when individuals are outside Australia.
Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
The Visitor Visa (Subclass 600) caters to various purposes, such as tourism, business visits, cruising, or visiting family and friends for 3, 6, or 12 months. It consists of different streams: Tourist Stream (Apply Outside Australia) and Tourist Stream (Apply in Australia) for tourists with a maximum stay of 12 months. The Business Visitor Stream is for short business trips, prohibiting selling goods or services to the public. The Approved Destination Status Stream is for citizens from specific Chinese areas participating in approved tours, while the Frequent Traveller Stream is for Chinese citizens with a multiple-entry visa for up to 10 years. Lastly, the Sponsored Family Stream allows individuals sponsored by family members to visit for up to 3 months, applying while outside Australia.
Work & Holiday Visa (Subclass 462)
The Work and Holiday Visa (Subclass 462) is a temporary travel visa designed for young adults aged 18 to 30, enabling them to travel, stay, and work in Australia while financing their holiday. Individuals holding a passport from any eligible country can apply and may need to provide a letter of support from their government of origin. Individuals can engage in temporary and casual employment during their stay to support their expenses for up to 12 months. There are three tiers of the Work & Holiday Visa (Subclass 462) – the First Work & Holiday Visa, the Second Work & Holiday Visa, and the Third Work & Holiday Visa.
Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417)
The Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417) is a temporary travel visa designed for individuals between 18 and 30 years, allowing them to travel and work in Australia for up to 12 months. Individuals must possess a passport from an eligible country to apply and have the option of engaging in temporary or casual employment to cover their expenses during their stay. Dependent children cannot accompany individuals. The Working Holiday Visa has three tiers: the First Working Holiday Visa, the Second Working Holiday Visa, and the Third Working Holiday Visa.
Transit Visa (Subclass 771)
Individuals transiting through Australia by air or sea within 72 hours of their arrival in the country can avail themselves of the Transit Visa (Subclass 771). Those arriving by air to join the crew of an eligible ship within five days of arrival and holding a Maritime Crew Visa (Subclass 988) can apply for this visa. Individuals eligible for an ETA, eVisitor, or Visitor Visa may not require a Transit Visa.
